What an extraordinary time to be an Executive Assistant! The role has evolved in meaningful ways, bringing not only different demands, but also different opportunities for true business partnership.
To capture these opportunities requires both technical and elevated communication skills, including self awareness and EQ. As such, this 3-part webinar series is highly interactive and will focus on soft skills critical for today’s EA.
All sessions start at 9am PT/11am CT/12pm ET and will last 50 minutes with plenty of time for Q&A and the opportunity for real time coaching during “Ask the Coach” via the confidential chat.
SESSION DESCRIPTIONS
SESSION 1: THE EMOTIONALLY INTELLIGENT EA (MARCH 21)
To be a trusted business partner, an EA needs not only IQ, but also Emotional Intelligence (EQ) In fact, research shows that EQ is a key differentiator among top performers in the workplace. We will uncover immediately actionable strategies to improve performance so EAs can work effectively in high-pressure situations.
Outcomes:
Understand what EQ is and how it impacts our productivity and work product
Build more productive working relationships with your manager and peers
Develop strategies for confidence, calm and focus when triggered by stress or conflict
SESSION 2: COMMUNICATING WITH PRESENCE + IMPACT (APRIL 18)
When it comes to effectively communicating with stakeholders and peers, one size does not fit all. In this workshop, EAs will learn practical tools to communicate with structure and brevity as well as to appropriately tailor audience-specific messaging.
Outcomes
Read and relate to others with greater comfort and flexibility.
Work more easily and effectively with people who have different personalities and communication styles.
Communicate in a range of situations with greater clarity, brevity and impact.
SESSION 3: ASSERTION BOUNDARIES & MANAGING UP (MAY 23)
Being an EA is a constant balancing act of competing priorities and ever-shifting demands. EAs will practice ways to assert themselves with increased comfort, professionalism, and effectiveness so that they can more successfully manage expectations and align with executives on key priorities
Outcomes
Appreciate the crucial difference between assertion and aggression as well as the impact of not leveraging.
Work through ambiguity and seek clarity with greater comfort and effectiveness
Effectively manage up and collaborate with co-workers
